Our Mission

Vexergy is an early-stage technology startup pioneering the next generation of deep-sea mining systems for sustainable extraction of polymetallic nodules from the ocean floor.

Polymetallic nodules primarily reside in the Pacific Ocean's Clarion-Clipperton Zone (CCZ), a roughly 1.7 million square mile region between Hawaii and Mexico, where billions of these rocks rest unattached on the abyssal plains over 2.5 miles deep. Rich in several critical minerals including Manganese, Copper, Nickel, Cobalt, and more, these polymetallic nodules offer a promising source of metals vital to the production of cutting-edge technologies such as EV batteries, solar panels, GPUs, jet engines, and wind turbines. These resources play are pivotal in powering industries ranging from energy, aerospace/defense, and manufacturing.

Our novel and comprehensive deep-sea mining system combines three primary components: an Autonomous Surface Vehicle (ASV) providing power and communications, a Subsea Mining Vehicle (SMV) equipped with our state-of-the-art precision harvesting apparatus, and our reusable Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) fleet for transporting payloads to the surface.

Vexergy System Overview Diagram

Enabled by onboard AI, advanced computer vision, and real-time sensing capabilities, our robotic mining machines operate fully autonomously; adapting to environmental conditions by detecting changes in topography, marine life, and mineral deposits. With operational and environmental sustainability at the core of our mission, this intelligent system maximizes production output, reduces overhead costs, and minimizes disturbances to the seabed and surrounding ecosystems which are sensitive to sediment plumes and noise pollution.
